Local cities and towns include Bristol (16 miles) to the south, Gloucester (25 miles) and Cheltenham (26 miles) to the north, Cardiff (43 miles) to the west, and the pretty towns and villages of the Cotswolds to the east.

Suggested Tour Itineraries for Coach Groups
Day 1: Berkeley Castle & Dr Jenner’s House
Visit nearby Berkeley Castle, an ancient fortress home which boasts fine medieval rooms and magnificent collections. It is probably best known as the scene of the brutal murder of Edward II in 1327. The castle has also been used as a filming location for Poldark and Wolf Hall.
Then travel a short distance to Dr Jenner’s House and discover the elegant former home of the country doctor whose work changed the world as a pioneer of the smallpox vaccination.
Day 2: Chavenage House & Painswick Rococo Garden
Visit the Elizabethan era manor Chavenage House which has a rich history and many Civil War associations.
Stop at Painswick Rococo Garden, which was initially designed in the 1740s as an English country gentleman’s pleasure garden and is home to quirky features and fantastical design.
Day 3: Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway & Cotswolds
Take a ride on the heritage Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway from Cheltenham through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cotswolds. After explore Broadway and the other pretty Cotswold towns and villages before heading back to the hotel.
Day 4: WWT Slimbridge, Wye Valley & Chepstow
See amazing wildlife up-close at Slimbridge Wetland Centre. Meet the flamingos, explore the wild reserve on a Land Rover safari, discover the colourful collection of amphibians at Toad hall and visit the observatory tower for stunning views across the Severn Estuary.
Return via a circular route covering the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley with a shop at Chepstow to see the beautifully preserved castle.
