We recognise the potential effect of our operations on the local, regional and global environment. As part of our objective to be the first-choice hotel in the area, we are committed to minimising and controlling our impact on the environment through a series of continuous improvements.
We will strive to improve our environmental performance and to prevent pollution by achieving the standards set by the Green Tourism Business Scheme - www.green-business.co.uk
We are committed to meeting the requirements of all relevant legislation and regulations and where no legislation exists, we will set our own minimum standards.
We use locally produced ingredients and fair-trade products in our restaurants
We supply filtered tap water in reusable glass bottles in our meeting rooms
We only use plastic free disposable products
Our coffee is supplied by Paddy & Scott's a 100% community-driven craft coffee. Every bag of coffee we use provides a meal for a child in coffee growing regions, so they can focus on studying and not where their next meal will come from
Our solar panels help power the laundry and maintenance buildings. We have a grant to install new solar panels in 2023.
95% of our lightbulbs have been changed to energy saving LED bulbs
We have replaced the TVs in bedrooms to low energy LED TVs
Our data chargers are set to eco mode which uses 20% less energy
We have installed new electric car charging points.
We recycle all used paper, plastic and cardboard
We use 100% recycled paper in our meeting rooms
We use recycled plastic pens or pencils in our meeting rooms
The soap in the showers in the guest bathrooms are via pump dispensers which reduce single use toiletry bottles
We source suppliers to work with based on their sustainability credentials
We choose local and small suppliers when possible
As we are part of a family owned group of hotels – we consolidate suppliers across the group to reduce deliveries and wastage
